Sticks and Stones

Ain't much to say bout this week.

Gun control activists do their thing, and Kalifornia is happy to let them.

Start getting all your friends to buy Mosin Nagants($90 at Big 5 on a good day, big "hi powered" bullets found everywhere ammo shortage or not) and see how long it'll take for them to want to ban those too. Actually, not "want." They already "want" to. I suppose the word should be "try." Then the word after that is "succeed."

Start with semi-auto, then move on to all magazine fed weapons, then anything that accepts a centerfire cartridge, then restrict anything that launches a projectile at more than 600ft/sec(Sir, that's an illegal spud gun you have there. I'll have to take you in and confiscate that weapon).

Then they'll restrict bows and crossbows after former California gun rights activists start taking up archery and crossbow hunting en masse. Especially when a few of the now "weapon control activists" are assassinated by bolts and arrows.

Then we'll need permits for long sticks.

I'll being doing OC Restaurant Week tonight and tomorrow. I'll blog about that hopefully before I leave for Texas on Sunday.

This and That and Knick Knacks

Failed on Valentine's Day, but I still think the present I got her was awesome. Humph.

Met Charley and his wife, Sungae, of Charley's Grilled Subs. Deeply spiritual guy, but also pretty serious business man. Not a combination I meet often.

Being sent to Texas again soon.

Signed on at a real estate brokerage, will start training the week after I get back. And I also need a headshot for my business cards.

In other news:

FTL is fun. Not too sad I got it full price, when it was 50% off this week.

Need to think of a name for AR. An expensive name.

Spent too much

First off, check out this website. http://www.ips.edu/
Any "Institute" for anything should have a website. This one looks like it was made by a 5-year-old. In 1995.

Just sayin.

New raft of Cali gun control legislation introduced. With Democratic super-majority, I don't think they'll have much trouble getting them passed, which leads to....

Spent lots of money, now doing the 10 days. Paid way too much, but better to spend now and get it now then not spend and possibly not be able to get later.

Also, now want a Remington 700.  XCR Tactical Long Range, or any 5-R(preferably not stainless, but hey, I'll take what I can get), in .300 Winchester Magnum. Not in a hurry though, since I don't think they'll ban these, at least until the next mass shooting comes around.

For Valentine's Day, got my girlfriend a electronic pet fish(I dub thee, Fred.). Mayhaps she won't kill this one. Dunno what our actual Valentine's Day activities will be.

Lots of hammocking

Spending lots of time in the hammock these few days.

Have an appointment at a real estate brokerage on Monday, more on that next week, probably.

Supposed to have contractor licensing class yesterday, canceled due to black out. Ate dinner with my family instead. Another cousin attended for the first time in a long time.

He just returned from Taiwan, where he taught English for a year. He recommended I do the same. I've not seriously considered it, but if my home life continues the way that it does, I will likely give it more thought.

I finally did attend an Aikido class with my girlfriend. Found it meh. Not really the workout I was expecting, and it was a lot more effort to attend than the class was worth. Seriously, who drives an hour to attend a recreational two hour class? Not to mention getting me in was a hassle too.

Sigh. Women.

(Ninja'd this line, because Nosedot said it was mean.-_-)
